I did a very fast and dirty sweep of SL for July 4 Outfits for this series of posts and I have to admit something. When I was at Lemania, I didn’t even let this outfit properly rezz before I bought it. I had just scooped up a boatload of things over a couple of days and had planned to sort it all out back at my estate.

And then I put this on.

And I realized, that for only one linden - I had purchased a dress made of fireworks!

SPECTACULAR! You can see why I saved this for last. This dress has AMAZING fluid movement - Cajsa shot a bajillion shots and 66 of them made it onto the flickr set.

I am 100% in love with this dress.

SYD Designer Teagan saw my Patriotica series and hit me with her Vampire Skin - with Patriotic makeup. While I was waiting for Cajsa to be ready to shoot, while I was ambling around the grid shopping and meandering I decided to to juxtapose the goth-vampire look with a very girly BRIGHT dress from <3 Cupcakes and some uber high-fashion shades I just picked up at Tesla.

Standing on Juicy poses this ended up being a really slick high fashion look.  I picked up this hair at Diversity Hair - Aleri has released some more of her classic styles retextured and I got this and another on sale.

When Cajsa was ready to shoot I hopped over to Koh Nana and hopped into the water! I had just picked up this Freebie Bikini at Bare Rose right before Cajsa said she was ready, so the timing was perfect.

You can see in the next pick a cute little star tattoo on the bootie……there are similar pretty stars on the nipples (NO I AM NOT SHOWING YOU!) and one on the cheek.

I’m a good swimmer - even in heels.

I had to admit I gave a giggle when I spotted this number on SLX. Not a total snicker, but OMG It’s got a scarf at the shoulder and bell bottom swishy sheer legs. Uber fun! It includes SKIN, and several different hair colors. I’m not wearing the skin, it was more pale than I care for but it was stars and stripes forever, I promise you that! It was a lot of fun but I opted to break out Hatchy’s USA FLAG skin instead.

If you do not win the best in red white and blue contest in this outfit, then the contest was RIGGED I TELL YOU!

I was on a short timetable the day I ran to pick it up, so I really appreciated it.

There’s nothing like a storm starting just as you leave the office to catch a bus home after working late into the evening to bring on a pity party. Fortunately, my outfit was just too cute for pity. Combining Honey Kitty and Schaudenfreude (just love that combination of words), I felt almost perky about the rain. I was wearing the brown Revenant outfit from Schaudenfreude, which makes up the skirt and corset here. The blouse was a lovely light brown, sleeveless top, but it had a skull pin at the neck. I just am not into skulls for clothing except maybe on Halloween, so I decided to wear another blouse. I had this delicious cream blouse from Honey Kitty in my closet - a blouse with loving attention to detail on the collar and cuff prims.

One of the things I really love about the Revenant outfit is the skirt prims are slightly different in color - the outer prim just a bit lighter, when they move and intersect, it looks like my skirt got a bit damp in the rain…which made this shoot even more fun.

Short and Sweet! Not just the dress, the post as well. I am working late in RL and taking a few minutes just to post this outfit and let you judge it for yourselves.  I went a little pared down on the accessories because the beaded collar straps eliminate the need and the advisability of a necklace. I went for the taupe shoes because taupe is undervalued when really, it’s a lovely and versatile color that needs more outings. 

Just to show you how versatile SL clothing can be, I paired it with a skirt from mischielf.

Another designer that is generous with the freebies especially around the holidays is SYD - Style Your Destiny.  For just a linden you can pick up this sweet little July 4 dress in their store in world or on ONREZ. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to break out my color change bracelets from Fresh Baked Goods.  I love these - any bracelet that I can make work with any outfit is definitely a best buy.

The dress fabric is in lovely muted tones that reminds of the SPIRIT OF ‘76 so much it hurts. What a fun little dress - I’m so delighted I found it, even if I only DO break it out once a year.

When I first conceived of doing this whole week in Red White and Blue, this was the outfit that inspired my silly notion. Every once in a while I sweep Onrez for freebie and dollarbie newness and this kyooot little number popped up a couple of weeks ago or more. From Awesome Designs you can still pick it up here for $L1.  You can probably also pick it up at the Awesome Designs maintsore In World however I haven’t popped over there to check.

I think my favorite thing on this outfit (besides the excellent vibrant color) are these fun stockings!

It’s a sweet outfit, full of holiday cheer - without the sleezoid factor of some miniskirt combos.

You know which sort of outfits I mean.

Let’s clear one thing up first. I love polka dots. Not surprisingly, they are named after the dance, but only because at the time textile manufacturers were producing the polka dot fabrics, the polka was the hottest dance craze around. Just think, if polka dots had not come out then, but say in the 20’s the may have been Charleston Dots or Shimmy Dots. If they were named today, what would they be called? Crump Dots? I kind of like the name Shimmy Dots, but I don’t suppose we could persuade the world to change the name.

Creamshop makes two delicious polka dot skirts in one lovely fatpack. I am wearing the black with gold dots, there is also a white with gold dots skirt. There are lovely bubble skirts - a skirt fashion more suited to SL than RL where wrinkling and flattening while you sit are not going to leave your skirt out of sorts all day long. As you can see, they provided another opportunity to throw on my Elphaba shoes from Digit Darkes. I believe there might actually be a dozen outfits by now with those shoes on this blog (just guessing!)

With the skirt, I am wearing the sumptuous and sexy Hoja top from Armidi and another of the indispensable Dictator Shrugs from Digit Darkes, in black this time. There are more photos on Flickr.

My hair is a relatively new style from Muism called MIka, but I have tinted it darker red than it comes in the box. My necklace is Niama from Armidi. It comes in an amazing rangle of metal colors to get the exact tone you want. I am wearing black bangles from DeLa.

Barbie Princess holiday freebies always rock my world. I wore their christmas outfit to an ice skating party last year. This one didn’t dissapoint either. A super cute string bikini with some pants you choose to wear or not (I decided to wear them since I was monument climbing - did I mention this entire thing was FANTOM? GAH!)

If you’re partying on the beach or some other tropical local this July 4 themed freebie is a nice pick up. And if you’ve got the rockin’ shape to go with it - who knows - it might even be contest worthy!
